- WALKING: Hotel Carabela is the ideal starting point for numerous excursions across the south-west of the island of Mallorca. Amongst many others, some highly recommendable excursions are the Torres del Cap Andritxol or from Cala en Basset, the climb to the peaks of Galatzó and S’Esclop, the visit to La Trapa and the visit to The Island of Sa Dragonera.
- TRIPS BY BOAT: From the Hotel Carabela boat trips can be taken to the Islas Malgrats, Sant Elm and La Dragonera, the Bay of Palma, etc. Several boats, some of them with underwater vision, set sail regularly from the very Palmira beach, just opposite the Hotel. - HORSE RIDING: Near the Hotel Carabela there are several horse riding centres suitable both for beginners as well as experienced riders. Amongst others, there is the Rancho La Romana (Paguera, 971687084), the Escuela Caballista es Pas de Calvià (Calvià, 971670139 / 639660032), the Club Hípic can Sis (Calvià, 971670178) and the Pony Club Calvià (Calvià, 609646248 / 609781460).
- WATER ACTIVITIES: The Palmira beach, where Hotel Carabela is situated, has plenty of facilities such as showers, sunshades, sunbeds, pedalos to hire, access paths, waste bins, telephones and look-out towers.
- SHOPPING: Just next to the Hotel are to be found prestigious brand-name shops, souvenir and gift shops, sports and perfume shops, supermarkets, chemists, etc. There is also a bus stop with regular connections to the city of Palma de Mallorca where the shopping offer is even more extensive. On the other hand, the weekly markets that take place across the Island are also worth mentioning. The most fascinating is held on Wednesdays in Sineu. Those in Calvià (Monday) and Andratx (Wednesday) are also recommended.
